A really great couple we know has just bought their first home. It's been a long journey for them, including some pretty nasty landlords, several moves around the continental U.S. chasing jobs and graduate schools, and an escrow that fell through due to owners who's last name has become a curse word in their household. I'm very fond of these folks and I'm so happy to see them settled and in possession of their very own home. To express my congratulations I made them a card.
I'm not sure there are many more gratifying ways to express one's genuine feelings for another than to make them something, with my own hands, mind and heart. I feel grateful to have so many folks in my life that inspire the gift of giving from my own hands.
